Turnitin: Turnitin for Instructors

A guide to plagiarism prevention and Turnitin for APUS students and faculty.

Using Turnitin Outside of Sakai

Instructors also have the option of creating their own accounts at Turnitin.com.  This might be useful if you wish to check student work that is not uploaded via the Assignments tool (discussion forum posts, etc.) for possible plagiarism.

To do this, you will need APUS-specific join codes.  Please contact the library (librarian@apus.edu) for the codes.

Once you have the codes, go to the Turnitin website (www.turnitin.com) and click on the "Create an account" link in the top left corner of the page. Follow the steps to create your profile.

The Turnitin Instructor Training site provides detailed instructions for setting up your class in Turnitin.
